Build Trust with Customers using these 8 Actionable Steps
Build Trust with Customers
Trust is one of the main reasons customers don’t buy.
If you’ve been in business, you certainly know this.
It’s not easy to build a solid connection between your brand and your prospect on the very first meet.
Except you’re Nike or Apple.
Building trust with your prospects gives you confidence in your business because you know that you’ll always deliver and it is also essential to success.

No trust = no brand loyalty = no sales
It is a feeling of confidence and security that your customers feel.
Think about who keeps you secure and confident.
You always want to be around them.
Brainstorm how you can make your customer feel that.
Brand trust is the belief that customers have in your business. It is based on factors such as reputation, transparency, fairness, and most important of all, value.
All these work together to create and enforce brand trust.
Brand trust isn’t built overnight.
It’s earned through time, consistency, and effort.
Customers that trust your brand will recommend it to others.
This word-of-mouth marketing reduces the effort you have to put into building brand trust because trust has been passed down.
If your trusted friend or partner refers something to you. If three products are presented to you of the same nature, you’re likely to choose the referred one.
Thinking the competition will cause your customers not to buy from you is a false belief if you’re able to deliver on your promise.
When customers trust a brand, they’re more likely to stick with it although other options are available.
Loyalty like this can lead to repeat business and long-term relationships.
This is what you should do to build brand trust.
- Be authentic
Being authentic means being original, and giving original content. But that’s not possible because there’s nothing that is new.
So the only authenticity in your content is your story.
If your content aligns with your story, it’ll be much easier to create and tell.
Though talking only about you isn’t what’s going to build trust. It’s the needs of your audience that you need to address.
Don’t be afraid to steal content, but steal like an artist.
Don’t blindly copy stuff online, make it your own.
- Be easy to find
It’s easy to get overwhelmed online by the competition.
But look at it from this point of view.
There are over 8 billion people in the world that could use your service or product.
Can they find you at any time? Ask yourself, and get to work.
There’s no limit to the amount of information you can find today. Adjust your marketing and be easy to find.
- Create valuable content.
This is a direct extension of being authentic.
Not only do you have to be authentic, but authentic in creating valuable content.
-Embrace transparency
Transparency is about having honest and open conversations with your audience.
Sharing information openly.
Being accountable for everything you do.
Transparency helps build stronger relationships with your customers and employees.
- Welcome feedback and adjust
Customer reviews are goldmines because if someone dropped a review of your business, others will have thought of the same thing.
Being able to accept feedback is a crucial skill for a business owner.
- Put a face to the brand
Don’t be a person behind the logo, building trust is harder that way.
Be the person that when thought of, the logo comes to mind.
Be the face of your brand.
It’s okay if you don’t want to be the face but show some personality.
- Be consistent
I remember when I used to get told to be consistent.
I always see people posting about being consistent, you don’t know who is watching.
It was only when someone told me that he’s been following me for a while and gave me a job that I believed this.
Consistency is not key.
Consistency with the right moves is key.
In everything that you do, make sure some element of the right path is there.
This is what goals do. They make sure you’re always on the right path.
- Use video content.
Using video content has been found to be a fast way to build trust.
Think about why you instantly trust someone on Instagram reels.
It’s because you feel the authenticity in their content.
Videos are second to human interaction, it’s why it works so well.
You must not implement everything you found here, but implement at least four of them to level up.
Let me know what you’d like to uncover about branding next.
As always, I’m rooting for you.
See you next week.
