Be Different; Be You

Differentiating yourself from the crowd.

I’m Tifu Kelison, a brand designer. My own mind is like a whole universe — a vast, limitless space where every element is a star that can flash bright and illuminate new ways for expression, thought, and emotion.

And because of this, I will always be different. The thing with trying to be like others is that you cannot be another person — that’s why you’re different in the first place.

So, to be you, or discover who you are, I will share this one secret that I used to help me (not that I have everything totally figured out).

Who Do You Want to Be?

Many of us struggle with this question throughout our lives as we deal with the complexity of our inner selves, obstacles, and possibilities.

The options and limitations surrounding us can sometimes leave us feeling lost, bewildered, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to find our way ahead.

However, the real answer to this question is found within each of us; it reflects our beliefs, interests, and goals for our future selves. It is the urge that propels us to work smart towards our objectives, to go outside our comfort zones, and to have an impact on the world.

Who do you want to be, then?

Do you aspire to be a leader who motivates and encourages others to do their best work? Do you aspire to be an artist who brings people beauty and significance using your work? Do you wish to work as a scientist exploring new areas of research and invention? Or would you choose to be a kind, empathetic person who enhances the lives of others?

So think about this and form a clear picture, and that’s a start.

The decisions we make every day, both big and small, define who we are and who we will become. These decisions—whether it's deciding to put in a lot of effort, take some risks, learn new skills, face challenges, or help others—define who we are and what we stand for.

Who we want to be is ultimately a journey rather than a final destination. Our lives are a continuous process of learning, development, and reflection. But we can improve ourselves and encourage others to do the same if we stay true to our inner vision and take the necessary steps to make it a reality.

So, ask yourself: who do you want to be? And then go out and make it happen.
