Why Trust Won't Get You Any Sales
Trust is an important factor in any business relationship, but it's not the only factor that matters.
Customers may trust your brand but be unwilling to buy from you if they don't see value in the service you're offering.
For example, I place high trust in Ferrari as a leader in racing cars, but I can't afford one yet. So even though I trust Ferrari, I'm not going to buy a car from them.
Trust can also be easily broken if a customer has a negative experience with your brand.
For example, I once bought an earpiece that stopped working after one week.
When I went back to the store where I bought it, the store had relocated. This experience left me feeling distrustful of the brand.
So, what does this mean for businesses?
It means that you need to focus on providing value to your customers, not just on building trust.
If you can offer a product or service that is of high value, customers will be more likely to buy from you, even if they don't know you very well.
Of course, trust is still important.
If you have a history of providing value to your customers, they will be more likely to trust you in the future.
However, if you only focus on building trust, you may be disappointed with your sales results.
So, how can you build a brand that people trust and value? Here are a few tips:
Focus on providing excellent customer service.
This means being responsive to customer inquiries, resolving problems quickly and efficiently, and going the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied.
Offer a high-quality product or service.
This means making sure that your products or services meet or exceed customer expectations.
Be transparent and honest with your customers.
This means being upfront about your pricing, policies, and procedures.
Build relationships with your customers.
This means getting to know your customers and understanding their needs.
By following these tips, you can build a brand that people trust and value. And when you do, you'll be well on your way to increasing your sales.
As always, I’m rooting for you.
